Clutches ~ Best Make-Up Bags?

Good Morning Everyone,

Sorry for the no-post on Monday. I have been really wanting to stay away for social media. There has been so much junk going around. My good friend texted me this past weekend and asked, "hey are you going to post a video"? Oh my, I completely forgot about my channel! I will try to get something posted this weekend.

This weekend I was dealing with my Roomba. I had to get "Alfred" on a cleaning schedule because my husband had control of him and he was not being used. So we transferred the app to my phone and now I have Alfred on a cleaning schedule. Yeppee!

In today's post I wanted to talk about my favorite clutches. Now I use my clutches as makeup bags because my purses are like totes so I can get away with it.

This first one has been a favorite for about a couple of years. I purchased it from Ann Taylor about two years ago and I love the color and the velvet texture.

It looks great and has been a wonderful makeup bag for me. Below are all of my clutches that I use as makeup bags.

I use all of them for different seasons. Most of them I purchased brand-new and the embroidered one I just purchased from Poshmark last week and I love it so far!

I use these during the winter and fall months. There is plenty of room and I love the textures and colors. The red velvet was purchased from Ann Taylor Factory and the pearl one was purchased from Banana Republic

These two I will probably carry through the spring and summer months. The pink one I purchased from Aldo and it comes with a chain.

But I got to tell you I do love my embroidered clutch from Poshmark.

It has lots of room and pockets for special items. I am going to enjoy having this in my tote.

It looks great and fits well. I hope you all enjoyed this post and that maybe it sparked a little interested in clutches for you. I know I love big bags and not everyone can carry one but if you have a work tote maybe this would be a good option for you. Enjoy your day!

Ideas for Organizing

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been feeling the organizing and purging "bug" lately. I have been going through all of my drawers at home and in my office.

My husband recently came home with a copy of Martha Stewart's new book, Organizing: The Manual for Bringing Order to Your Life.

I love it so far! Martha has her calendar in it for each month with all of her activities and then discusses them in the pages after. So great, but I will share more about her book later.

I did however wanted to share this awesome blog post from interior designer Randi Garrett about her kitchen drawer organizing tips.

Kitchen Drawer Organizing Tips

I love all of the beautiful hand towels that she has in her drawers. I may take some inspiration from that and buy new nice towels for the kitchen.

And did you guys see this beautiful flatware? Oh my....

I hope you all enjoy this post from Randi. I know I am feeling really inspired to beautify my space.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Few Beautiful Things

Have you ever had a weekend where you found lots of beautiful things? It happens to me more than often and sometimes I like to take a step back and just take it all in.

I did some shopping recently and decided to change my curtains in my home. I have always been afraid of white or cream curtains. I like to keep my privacy so I always steer clear of these but I decided recently to take a chance.

I really love these beautiful cream DKNY curtains that I found at HomeGoods. The room feels like it has been refreshed some how. The original curtains that I had were gray and with these cream curtains the room now feels bright. The price made the decision easier too. I only paid $29 per set! Wonderful right?

Once I saw how great they looked I hurried to HomeGoods to get the last set and hang them in our loft. This is where the office is. I love the way these look and they are nice and thick. So my room looks elegant without showing the inside of my home.

The next item that I found was this beautiful blue and white pillow from Ralph Lauren. I also found this at HomeGoods for only $20! It's gorgeous in person!

Last weekend my family and I went to our outlet mall here in Indiana. I am not a huge fan of our outlet mall. We don't have a lot of selections there. I did stop by the Coach store and picked up this beautiful cognac tote for under $200. These beautiful nude Coach pumps I found on Poshmark (brand-new) for under $60!

I also saw these down in the Ann Taylor Factory store. It is so much better to see items in person. These rhinestone pumps are stunning in person!  I had to get a pair.

And last but not least is this arrangement sitting in my clear chair. Now that may not be a big deal to anyone else but I just love it there. You know how you may be moving things around in a room and you place something somewhere and look over and think, "well I actually like that there". That is how this happened.  Accidentally beauty....

I am still in a funk at the office. Trying to decide what to do, see here if you missed my blog post about that. But I am trying to find the beauty in things and focus on gratefulness and learning to just be still and know that he is God.

I have searched and read some of my past posts about beauty and poise. Life is interesting but worthwhile when you found your purpose.

A Little Magnolia

Good Morning Everyone,

It is so nice having a three-day weekend. It's funny how you try to cram things in when you have that extra day.

I keep visiting the grocery stores trying to get flowers on sale. No one has marked them down yet. No fun! In today's post, I wanted to share this beautiful little mirror that I found at Draper James.

Draper James is a lifestyle company started by actress Reese Witherspoon. It is a cute website and has lots of wonderful things.

I particularly loved this beautiful compact mirror. I love pulling it out of my clutch and using it. It's lovely.

It has such a vintage look to it. I love the magnolias, the clamshell shape mirror, and the gold trim. The price is wonderful too!

I am going to love using this beautiful, feminine item. I hope you all enjoyed this beautiful and affordable find. Have a great Monday!

Scrumptious Salads for Me

Hello Friday Morning and Happy Valentines Day,

It's a three day weekend again. I am thinking about going to see a friend. She had a massive stroke in July of last year and has not been the same. Her birthday is coming up and I want to take her some flowers and spend some time with her.

In Wednesday's post, I talked about my recent decision to take probiotics. I wanted to share in this post the recent salads that I have been making for lunch.

This is my little Kate Spade Lunch Bag that I found on Poshmark brand new. It is really small so I would not encourage you to buy it if you plan on having large meals. I love it because I can pack small items and they will be protected in my tote.

I have been buying bags of spinach and veggies. I like to place my salads in large zip-lock bags because I like to fix my salads together when I get in the office. I don't want everything being in the bowl and getting soggy. So here I have my spinach and shredded cheese in one bag and my cucumber and tomato in the other.

Here I have some crispy chicken tenders chopped up. I placed these in the oven and let them cool off. Once I go to the office, I place them in the microwave to warm them and put them in my salad.

I can't forget my favorite salad dressing. If you love the salads at Olive Garden then that means you love their Italian dressing. You can buy this at the store now and I love it on my salads! So good!

All finished now time to pack everything up.

It all fits including the cinnamon almonds that I have for a snack.

In this photo, I am at the office and have put my beautiful salad together. It is so good and I have a green tea to drink with it and my lovely cinnamon almonds as a snack.

Simple pleasures in life and make it wonderful sometimes. I hope you all have a great weekend and share in the comments section below your favorite salad ingredients. I would love to know!

Thanks for reading!

Trying Probiotics

Good Morning Everyone,

I recently shared the vitamins that I am taking and the recent appointments that I have scheduled. I did go and see the vein/ leg specialist and they found NOTHING wrong with my veins. That is a good thing. I have no idea why it hurts sometimes but I won't let the crazy thoughts bother me anymore.

I was talking with my supervisor recently about probiotics. Now I have seen lots of commercials about these but did not know much. I also just watched a video on YouTube where Will Smith and his family just had blood tests taken to try to find answers as to why they are having stomach issues.

It was such a fascinating video. The doctor in that video also discussed probiotics and how everyone had leaky gut and how that would help so that got me thinking. Maybe I should give these a try.

Now I have been taking them for two weeks and my stomach issues have calmed down a bit. I was encouraged to take the entire bottle for 30 days then wait and see.

So my question to you guys is this, have any of you taken probiotics for more than 30 days and if so what were your results? Please share. I really want to know.

Thanks for reading!

Blue and White in my Cabinets

Good Morning,

I am back online after taking a week off. If you watched my YouTube video last week I discussed how my boxer chewed my cord to my home computer! Not fun! Now I did not catch him in the act but as soon as I picked it up I yelled at both of them, "You chewed my cord"! The baby boxer (he is 5 years old) just sat there but the older one (who is 8 years old) ran down the stairs. GUILTY!!!

It's okay, I got a new one and here we are. In today's post I wanted to share a very small project that I did. I know we all probably have had or do have drawer pads. I saw this beautiful role of blue and white drawer padding at the store and just had to pick it up.

I could not find the link but I found it at my local grocery store. It is lovely.

I decided to put it under my sink cabinet on my side. I am now showing you guys my business. One of my oil sheen spray cans busted and I have been trying everything to get it out.

Another reason why I decided to place this there.

It looks so much better now. Now all I need are some beautiful organizing boxes to place inside with all of my products.

I hope you guys have a wonderful Monday and I pleased to announce that we had SNOW this weekend! I pray that the heavens above are hearing my prayers. If you watched my fashion video on YouTube I had a small rant about how I hate how warm it is. Please let the seasons go accordingly. Everything is beautiful in it's time.

My Dream Desk ~ The Chinoiserie Secretary

Good Friday Morning,

Already February is upon us! Wow! 2020 is on a role. My husband asked me recently if I wanted to get any new pieces of furniture. Now why my husband would ask me that is crazy. He knows how much I love to look at furniture.

My eyebrows raised when he asked me. I said, "Well I would like a chinoiserie desk". Of course, he has no idea what that is. So I tried to explain it but he still did not get it.

So that had me thinking. What kind of desk would I like to have if I could purchase one?  There is no great inspiring website than Pinterest.

So below are the chinoiserie desks that I would love to have...

This is still one of my favorites. Remember I shared this office in June of 2019.

I think I am loving the secretary look. It seems so sophisticated and whimsical. This desk is from the Ralph Lauren collection. I should have known.

I would love to have a little pink in it. Especially some cherry blossoms. Now wouldn't that be wonderful?

Oh my gosh, you guys. I found a blue and white secretary desk! ADORE! Pinterest is so dangerous!

There are so many beautiful options. But I do hope that sometime in the near future I can find one. I did see a chinoiserie desk at my local antique store but the price was about $795! Not something I was willing to pay at the time. Even right now I don't think I would like to pay that.

I do hope that you enjoyed this post and that it provided some inspiration for you. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your time with family.

January Favorites~ 2020

Good Morning,

It's been a week. Horrible news... I know many of you have heard about the news of Kobe Bryant, his 13-year daughter, and the other passengers on the helicopter. All I kept thinking of was his wife Vanessa. I can't imagine what she is going through right now.  My family and I said prayers for them... it is truly heartbreaking.

Well, let us move on into my favorites for January before I get sad all over again.

I'll start off with my new Day Designer that I found at Target. Now I did not find this online. I found it inside my local Target.

My new one is the black and gold one. I love it! I have more room to write, I love the tabs and extra stickers. It was a great purchase for $18! I can't seem to function without my Day Designer. I open it every day. Sometimes before I even touch my phone!

My second favorite was Alena Pettitt's interview on the BBC Network regarding "trad wives". I thought she did a lovely job standing up for femininity and embracing being a stay at home mom.  Way to go Alena!

My third favorite has been my toile inspired bangle bracelet from Talbots. Beautiful, isn't it?

Fourth on my favorite's list are these beautiful Coach Wren Pumps from Von Maur. I have not worn them yet but they fit well and I am looking forward to wearing them this spring and summer.

Fifth on my list has been my long lost love fragrance.... night-blooming jasmine.

It is still sold out online. I have had numerous women stop me left and right and ask me what I am wearing. I love this scent! I have already emailed the customer service staff at Bath and Body Works asking them to please return it on a permanent basis. We shall see!

Sixth on my list has been baby's breath. I don't know why but that has been the only floral bouquet that I have been buying at the store. It gives such a light soft scent in my office and home. It has been really enjoyable.

I also love my black cape and faux fur gloves that have been my winter gear for this season. I forgot to take a photo of them. Maybe I will share it in a video.

I hope you all have a great day and we will chat soon!

Grand-Millennial ~ Are You One?

It's Friday and already time for the weekend. I had a great breakfast meeting with some lovely ladies this week, tried lunch at a new spot (loved the turkey burger and fresh fruit) and de-cluttered my office.

So it was a good week. My supervisor texted me an interesting article recently about "grand-millennials". Has anyone heard this term? I know that because of my age (37) I am considered a millennial but I don't act like one.

My interests are completely different and I don't mind it. But when I read this article about grand-millenials I was so intrigued and relieved. I am not alone!

Definition:
Grand-Milliennial- Ranging in age from mid-20s to late-30s, grandmillennials have an affinity for design trends considered by mainstream culture to be “stuffy” or “outdated”—Laura Ashley prints, ruffles, embroidered linens. Unlike that of the late-aughts hipster, their taste for the antiquated isn’t ironic; it’s less twee than timeless. And although there’s a good bit of shared DNA with prep culture, the two terms aren’t entirely interchangeable; the grandmillennial is less Lilly Pulitzer, more faded D. Porthault.

Mix and Chic: Inside a bright and breezy Southern Mississippi home with a modern twist!

(Emma Bazilian- House Beautiful Magazine)

You’d probably never in a million years guess that this shot is of Aerin’s office, since it’s not, as she says, the “typical” office environment. Our favorites in this room include the green-velvet couch, the way its pattern riffs off that vibrant throw pillow, and how her art and photographs are so casually leaned up against the wall.

I know and believe in my heart that I am a grand-milliennial. I have a love and appreciation for things of the past.

I need and adore things that are well-made and built to last. I agree with the article. As you scroll through Instagram or Facebook everyone's home does start to look alike. Everyone has that stark white house and boxy looking furniture from Ikea. No disrespect to Ikea but I love an antique style buffet with a few dings and scratches on it.

So what do you think? How do you feel about this new term? Are you a grand-milliennial?

Let me know in the comment section below. Have a great weekend!

Fresh Candles

Royal Gardens Tea for One

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone,

I am back in the office and trying to get into the swing of things. This weekend we went out for dinner and while we were waiting for a table we decided to go next door to the bookstore.

I picked up a Good Housekeeping magazine and came across the beautiful Highgrove Tea Set for One pictured above. Isn't it gorgeous? Oh I wanted it so bad so when I see things in a magazine and I know I don't want to buy it, I take a photo of the article with my phone and look it up later.

So when I looked up this set I realized that after shipping it would be $100! That's disappointing but maybe next time.

I did go candle shopping. Bath and Body Works was having a sale on their 3-wick candles. Their candles are the best. I did pick up the new fresh orange scent.

My husband loves and could not put it down. He keeps smelling it. It burns very nicely and has notes of grated orange zest and citrus.

The second candle that I picked up is my all-time favorite perfect spring. This has notes of fresh grass and apple blossom. It may be a little strong for some people but I love it.

I forgot to get my other favorite fresh cut lilacs so I am hoping to pick that up soon. Please let me know what your favorite spring candles are. I would love to know!

Enjoy your day!

Unknown Thoughts of 2020

Good Morning Everyone,

We are already in the third week of January and normally I would have some thoughts of what I would like this year to be like and for the first time.... I don't have any.

This has never happen to me before. I am on unknown territory. I recently had an office issue. I don't want to really get into the details about it but it made me re-think a lot of things.

Because of the recent issue, I have become more open to looking into different opportunities. What it also taught me was people will surprise you in more ways than one.

You want to always believe the best about people but sometimes you just have to face facts that some people are all about themselves. Now they may not mean to hurt you or be disrespectful. I just believe that some people are so focused on themselves that they don't think about anyone else.

It's all about their goals and dreams. But as Maya Angelou said, "When someone shows who they really are the first time, believe them".

I now believe some people.

But I know one thing that is always with me and that is my faith. I have been praying for direction for this situation and my future. It is so hard staying in a situation that you know is not good for you and wait on the Lord. But I want God's best and to me I know it is worth the wait. I just need the strength to still be gracious, professional, and elegant while I wait. So Father help me.

I think that we all have had life experiences that have forced us to become confused and lost. One thing I am grateful for is that my home life is well and that helps me to stay in the game.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and remember to keep things in perspective. The Lord is working always. ~
