It's time again! I am headed to Washington, D.C. for another week. My family and I will be there next week so I will be m.i.a. on the blog. I am going for another week of work but I am hoping to enjoy it like we have the last few times.
Cherry Blossom season had been predicted again for the week that we are there so fingers crossed! I am hoping that we will see it this year! I really want too!
Another place on my agenda is a Goodwill! I know that is weird but I am so curious to see what things I could find at a Goodwill store in D.C.
Other than that I am open to whatever. Of course, I would love to see all of the monuments again and visit the Library of Congress and the National Gallery of Art. Those are my favorite places in D.C.
So until April..... enjoy your week!

So we are already into the middle of March and these months are just flying by. My favorite author Jennifer L. Scott has already given us our chic assignments for March. I shared a few weeks ago my February chic assignments and the status of where I am on them. This is such an enjoyable activity. I have really enjoyed this.
Now let's get into March's assignments....
Jennifer's first assignment is to listen to Chopin Nocturne and I have. What a wonderful piece! I am still working on practicing my piece from Bach. It will be a process. Stay tuned!
The next assignment is to make your laundry more routine and more pleasurable! It's funny because I was already working on that. I went to the Container Store to try to find some organizational bins for my laundry room and I found these and these and they worked out great!
So many wonderful options....
I picked out the grey ones and I also added this beautiful picture in my laundry room. I found this in South Carolina about 5 years ago! It was in a Goodwill store. Love it hanging in my laundry room.
Her third assignment was to study the works of Claude Monet.
I was fortunate enough to see his work in person at the National Gallery of Art in Washington last year. See my blog post here and here about that. I got to visit twice!
And her last assignment was to prepare your wardrobe for seasonal transition.
I am already working on that. I am looking for as many floral wardrobe pieces that I can find. I don't have a ten-item wardrobe but I do get rid of items very quickly if they are not serving me well. I found this gorgeous blue and white dress at New York and Company. It is lovely and I can not wait to wear it this spring and summer. I have also ordered three new dresses from Old Navy and a new leopard maxi from New York and Company. I also shared some of my favorite spring finds from Ann Taylor. You may view that post here if you wish.
I am looking forward to spring and I am excited to continue this series with Jennifer. Please share your March chic assignments below. I am very curious about you guys! Thanks for reading!!!

Sorry for the no-post on Friday. We had a "wind warning" here in Indy on Friday and it was bad. So we all had issues with internet service. It was not a huge shock as we always have Jekyll and Hyde weather here. Last week I wrote a post about Floral Totes by Ted Baker and in particular, I was dreaming about the first one.
The Cecie Chatsworth which is now sold out was my favorite. I wonder if any of my readers were able to get their hands on it? I am curious? I don't get a commission for any of my finds yet but I am hoping to get some sponsors in the near future.
I was so happy to receive this last week. It is stunning! It is such a beautiful bag, you guys! Very spacious, it has plenty of room for everything.
Love the lettering in gold, so chic.
The pouch inside was just as beautiful as the tote itself. What a splendid buy!
I adore how the floral design continues around the entire bag. It's wonderful!
I hope that at least one of you was able to order this beauty. The price was outstanding! I could not pass it up and I carried it for about 3 days last week and received plenty of stares. It is a show stopper for sure. I hope that you enjoyed this post and were able to pick up one yourself. Happy Monday!

I just wanted to share a quick little post today about this lovely sweater that I picked up at H&M a few weeks ago.
It is a basic knit sweater in this beautiful light purple. I call it lavender and it is just lovely.
I've worn it with my brooch and pearls.
It is very comfortable and affordable.
It's perfect for those chilly spring days.
The material is nice and thick. I have gotten so many compliments on this sweater. Everyone loves the color and the shape of it.
I hope that you enjoyed this wonderful little spring find and enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for reading!

Good Monday Morning all! It's a week before my kids's spring break and honestly, I am looking forward to it! It will be nice taking a break from the "school schedule". In two weeks I will be leaving for Washington again for another work related trip. I like going out of town but then again I don't. It's nice to take a break from cooking dinners and home life. But then again I do miss my bed, candles, home pretties and routine. Anyway, enough nagging. I wanted to share this beautiful book that I will taking with me and reading during our 10-hour road trip.
I am sure that most of you have heard of this book called French Country Cottage by Courtney Allison. It is a beautiful book and I follow her Instagram account and it is such a wonderful treat to see all of her beautiful pictures.
She goes into details about her cottage. She talks about her love of romantic vintage and how each piece tells a story. Each trinket is fueled by passion, inspirations and what you love.
I adore this bed. I would love to have something like this. She said that it was a reproduction and is covered in carvings, gilding, and worn paint. The bed has stacks of linens on it. I wonder if they are french linens. Read my post here about that.
This page is about her attic. Did you hear me? Her attic! It looks like this! Incredible!! I love what she has done with the space. She has this antique chair and these beautiful vintage sconces. She says, "The attic is a place for play and for retreat. A place for daydreaming with a cup of tea. Our attic is a little bit of a childhood dream spot in our home."
And lastly, this is her kitchen island. It is lit up by double chandeliers. They illuminate the room while adding vintage elegance. This is one of my dreams. To have double chandeliers. I would love it.
This book is quite big and there are so many more pages to share. I hope that you can pick up a copy to look at. I know that I will certainly enjoy reading this while on the road. It will be a retreat on it's own.

In keeping with this week's floral theme, I wanted to share some favorite small picks from the Monique Lhuillier Rose Collection at Pottery Barn.
I want to start with this beautiful table setting. The rose napkins are such a beautiful blend of pinks and creams. It also has a lovely jacquard weave. So lovely.
Dreamy isn't it? I was able to see this feminine bedding set at the store. This is called the Penelope Ikat Duvet Set. I could see this on our own bed and take a look at the dainty clare swivel vase on the nightstand.
It was exceptional in person. Well, I hope that you all enjoyed my floral finds for this week. I am still on my pink blush hunt and will continue to buy as many items in that color as possible. I just know that eventually everything comes to an end and they will stop selling items in pink soon. I hope that I am wrong and that this season of femininity continues to grow. Enjoy your weekend!

On my quest to find florals for spring and summer I stumbled on a designer named Ted Baker. I was in our Nordstrom Rack Room and spotted a few of his shopper totes.
I was captivated by the designs. They were covered with florals. Very beautiful, gorgeous, alluring and tastefully design.
This is one of my favorites. This is called the Cecie Chatsworth shopper and it is stunning!
Another favorite is this pink porcelain rose shopper. I found it on eBay.
This satin shopper is a show stopper too! Beautiful isn't it?
I have to say that the Chatsworth Floral Bloom collection is my favorite. I think that it is just stunning.
This is the Ted Baker Petal Large Tote.
Beautiful scarfs are available, like this peach blossom scarf.
Beautifully embellished crossbody bags are available and this comes in 5 different colors!
This light pink ballet flat has floral details on the inside. Only a few sizes left!
Large four-wheeled luggage suitcases are available. I think I might try to find this!
He also has cosmetic bags for his collection. If you want to see more items for sell check eBay and Poshmark. There are a lot of these totes for sale and some of the sellers are willing to negotiate. I just can't stop looking at some of them. They are just works of art to me. Very beautiful. Please let me know in the comments section below if you own a Ted Baker tote. I would love to know what design and if you are using it. Thanks for reading!

It's March! The month that brings hope. Hope that spring is on the way. I was looking in my closet recently and saw that I have a LOT of cardigans! And I don't mean the small ones. I have huge, thick cardigans!
In all fairness, I do live in Indiana and it's cold but our summers are pretty warm! I have been trying to find beautiful blouses to wear for the spring and summer. I work in an office and I always try to look put together. Finding blouses for me has been a chore for a while now. I have hips and it is not easy finding something that can get around those.
So it's fair to say that I dress my hips before I dress anything else. You guys know that I love Ann Taylor and just checked out their new arrivals for spring. My wish list is pretty full already.
First on my list is this beautiful number. It is called the meadow floral wrap top. I am hoping to go and take a peek in person very soon but it is on my wishlist for sure.
Next is the classic boatneck blouse in this beautiful cerulean. I also love the button cuffs, elegant.
Next but number one on my list is this lovely textured wrap top. I actually got to see this in person and it is exquisite! I can't wait until they drop the price a little more.
I know this should be about blouses but I could not help it. I had to add this charming flare dress to my wishlist. Lovely isn't it?
I am just now seeing this beautiful top! They only have it in extra small online so I am hoping to find it in the store somewhere.
This is another great option for when the office is a little chilly. I actually got to see this belted tunic in person. The pink is very pretty.
And last is this smart belted A-line dress. It is so sophisticated and would look wonderful with a pair of pearls.
All of these are beautiful pieces that I am hoping to get my hands on. For me, I try to wait until they lower the price on the item and then add 40% off. That's when I consider it a sale. Call me cheap but it works. Thanks for reading and enjoy your day!

It's the third month of the year already! Okay, please slow down! I don't want 2019 to fly by like 2018 but it looks as if it's on track to do so.
(Sighing).... There are going to be so many changes for us this year. My last step-son will be moving out in August. He is going to college. When I met him and married their dad he was only 3! I can't believe it went by that quickly and yesterday was our 15 year wedding anniversary.
Okay, enough sad talk. Let's get right into my February favorites.
Love my winged tote, see here to read it!
Now the first on my list are actually items that I just purchased but I like them a lot! These beautiful large, pale pink faux pearl earrings are from H&M. I searched vigorously for the link but to no avail.
I searched for the gray scarf also but could not find it. I did, however, find these.
Next, are these beautiful slingbacks from Calvin Klien. I actually purchased these at our local consignment store called Style Encore. I only paid about $17 and they are super chic and comfortable. I did run a search on Ebay and found some of these.
Fourth on my list is this small sample of facial cleanser called Tatcha. I was given this sample sometime last year with my free gift with purchase. I saw it in my product drawer and I thought, "Okay I will give this a try". It is wonderful! My skin glowed on day 2! If you know of a company or place that will give you a free sample of this, take it! It's a wonderful facial cleanser.
Fifth on my list is this oldie but goodie. It is called Living the Good Life by Martha Stewart. My husband purchased this book for me about 5 years ago (it was published in 2013) and I have not read it until now. It is great! I can't seem to put it down.
Here is a look at some of the paragraphs in the book. Also, I use postcards as bookmarks. This is one of my favorites. I found it in Charleston last year.
And last but certainly not least is this great two-minute video of one of my favorite scenes from Mrs. Doubtfire. I already loved the elegant home that they lived in but wouldn't it be nice to come home to this elegant meal? Great scene and funny!
I hope that you enjoyed my favorites from February. March is going to be a busy month for me. I have my daughter's birthday, step-son and husband! The worse part is that they are all in the same week! I will also be traveling to Washington, D.C. at the end of the month for more work-related training. I hope that things will go well and that we just enjoy our time. Have a good weekend!
