A Little Haul

Last weekend my husband wanted to visit one of our outdoor malls. It was quite shocking! He hates shopping so of course when he made that suggestion I jumped right on it!

I stopped at a few stores. Not many. I was not really on the look out for anything. I did stop in Bath and Body Works. The semi-annual sale is starting to wind down.

I did find a few things there......

I love their body creams. They work so well and when I find a scent I stick with it. Well, that's until they discontinue it which seems to be the case with every scent that I love! It's frustrating. These were on sale for only $2.46 each! So I got pink magnolia. I love the hints of jasmine petals and wild orchid. It is a very light scent.

The next scent that I picked up was jasmine green apple and that seems to be sold out online. Then I decided to try wildberry and chamomile. I really like it! It is goes well with my body pheromones. The last item that I picked up was acai berry body refresher. I loved this also! It is such a great scent and has been wonderful spraying on myself during these hot summer days.

They also had these faux berry branches. They were about $7 per branch but I got them for $1.24 each this past weekend! How great is that? I love them in my blue and white vase. I could not find these online so they must be sold in the store only.

I bought so many that I had enough for a second bouquet at work. They look so beautiful in my office too! I sure hope that you enjoyed this post and stop by your local Bath and Body Works store. They always have wonderful items.

Have a great weekend!

My New Day Designer

I was so thrilled when I saw that Day Designer was coming out with some new designs. I ordered my first one years ago and have just not gotten back to ordering a second one.

I follow them on Instagram so when I saw the new climbing floral design I just knew that I had to have it! It was so charming and beautiful.

The Day Designer is "strategic planner and daily agenda for living a well-designed life".  The goal of the day designer is to help you schedule your daily to-do lists, help you to focus on your "top three to-do's" and helps to encourage clarity and razor-sharp focus for the most productive day and year.

It provides steps to set goals, inspirational daily quotes to help keep you motivated, yearly, monthly and daily overviews. It is a wonderful organizer and it looks so chic when you carry it into your office meetings (I know I have).

So here are some photos below of my day designer.

I Won An Oyo Box!

There are some great bloggers and Instagrammers out there. One in particular is Susana Fernandez and I follow her Instagram page. Last month she had an Oyo box giveaway! I entered the contest via her Instagram page with my friend Mrs. Shery.

On May 29, I checked my notifications on my Instagram page and saw a video of her pulling my name. I WON! I couldn't believe it! You can go to her Instagram page to watch the video.

I must admit that I felt like a little kid who had just won BINGO! It was great and it was so nice receiving it in the mail.

Beautiful packaging

My Oyo box in natural

It is lovely

It also came with a sunglass case to protect your shades and a certificate of authenticity card.

Beautifully organized and simple

I placed the box in my cabinet in my closet. It looks lovely there.

I have entered so many sweepstakes and contests and honestly I never thought that I would win because I never do. So this was a nice surprise! I have enjoyed having it and who knows, maybe I could pass it down to my daughter some day.

Chicken Tacos at Home

I saw this recipe on Pinterest and thought this is way too easy not to try.

I went to the grocery store and grabbed the ingredients. Didn't look like much which was great! I am for recipes that only require 4 to 5 ingredients.

I put the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in my crock pot for 10 hours with the chicken broth. They were so tender they fell apart as you picked them up.

I then chopped up and pulled apart all of the chicken and added the Hidden Valley Ranch mix and the McCormick Taco mix to the chicken. Next, I stirred it all up.

You can find these anywhere.

After that all we had to do was grab the soft tacos, cheese and veggies and we had a delicious dinner that only took a few minutes to prepare. It was sooo good!

I was so happy to find a recipe like this that was simple and easy. I love having great meals at home and I especially love it when they take little time and we can enjoy them at home. I hope that some of you are able to try this recipe soon.

Enjoy!!!

Shopping for Bedding Sets

Let's continue our Wayfair journey. Since I was already on the site looking at couches, I started to think about other items I would like for my home. Bedding.....

I really like this set. The beige color would like great with any decor. This is called the Bridgestone Comforter Set. Lovely isn't it?

Okay, I know that this is super girly but I just love the color. It's so beautiful to me. This is the Oraine Comforter set and it has great reviews!

I am not a bed pattern kind of person but I think that this is quite charming. It is called the Rosedorf Seren Set. It is beautiful.

I am leaning toward the first one but I just love the mauve color of the second one. Another item that I was taking a look at is area rugs.

And last but certainly not least......I really like the Upham area rug. So many ideas in my head but we will see.

Ideas for a New Couch

Okay, there is nothing wrong with the couch that I have now in my sitting room but I have been wanting something different for so long now.

This is my sitting room now. It is a hodge-podge of items and honestly I like it. I don't like to buy "uniform" or living room sets. I think buying items separately and buying different items from all over the place takes creativity and imagination.

I do like my blue and white with my brown couch but honestly I am just sick of brown furniture. You guys remember our gray sectional that we got last year (see here if you missed it). That was just the beginning of my brown furniture purge.

This whole weekend I have been watching Hallmark movies and commercials for Wayfair just kept coming on. Honestly, I have never really paid much attention to them until I saw a black and white couch on the commercial and I thought hummmm, why don't I just take a look.

I found this beauty. It is called the Barryknoll Standard Settee. They have it in several different colors but I really like the gray and for $250 why not! They also provided a video for it. How wonderful is that?

The next couch that I saw was this. It is called the Versailles Sofa. We can see that I want another gray sofa with tufts and studs. I just think that it is classic.

The next one was this Menyauthe Settee.

These are just a few of the couches that I am interested in. I am not sure which one I want but I will update everyone on the blog if I end up purchasing anything. It is always fun looking for new furniture pieces. I just want to find something that I will love.

My Summer Porch

I posted the photo below on my Instagram page. I talked about how I put a vintage run on my front porch.

I love the way it looks. I didn't intend on putting a rug on my front porch. I actually washed this rug and just left it out to dry. I figured the summer heat would take care of that.

But once I saw how it looked on the porch while it was drying, I soon began to love the texture and the idea of having a place to put my feet. So I decided that it would stay. I do love sitting on my front porch with my husband. We always have a glass of wine while we relax and talk.

I am going to enjoy my porch this summer with my husband. Go out and enjoy yours if you have one also.

Enjoy!

A Recent Project...

A few weeks ago husband's company had a weekend project. It is rare that they work on weekends because my husband believes in spending time with family but this project had to get done.

My husband knows how much I love decor and interiors so once the project was finished he sent me a few photos of the home that they were working at and I just could not believe that this home is located in my city.

Isn't it magnificent? I love the details in the archway and the pillars look so stately and grand. Take a look at the floors. There were so many attributes. Now this is a grand entryway.

My husband said that they had art all down the halls. He said that he felt like he was in one of the Smithsonians in Washington again. Looking at this I can see why.

Do I spy blue and white? Of course, a home like this has it. It is elegant and timeless. But take a look at those beautiful sconces. Now aren't those impressive?

This was one of the bathrooms in the home. They have marble walls and just look at the mirror and chandelier. My goodness..... I was just in awe with the entire space.

Okay, this is the outdoor space that I dream of! Blue and white lamps outside. Genius! The fireplace looks cozy and did you notice that they have a mirror above it? Wow, I would not have thought of that. It's just beautiful.

When my husband sent this photo I just stared at it. The stairs alone are a work of art. And speaking of art do you see it all around on the walls? I wish I could have been there on sight at this project.

I think I would have been driving the owners nuts asking questions about the art, the marble, and all of the features of the home. It's just splendid.

I was so happy that my husband shared this pictures with me and so happy that he got the opportunity to work in such a beautiful place. It was truly an honor.

Summer Lovelies at Talbots

It is summer and time for my yearly summer review from Talbots. I received my catalog a few weeks ago and wanted to share just a few favorites for the summer.

My first item is this lovely Audrey Neck shell. I adore it! I am a huge fan of these types of blouses or shirts. I am going to try my best to get this one.

This is the gorgeous Zebra bangle. I have a few of these and they are very chic.

This is a beautiful pleated midi skirt. This would be great for the summer. It is a pretty garden skirt and would look great with a crisp white shirt.

If you want a little color this summer this dress has a great silhouette. It is called the Tropical Floral dress.

This is a great clutch. It is called the Leopard spots wicker clutch. Great for those summer parties!

And one more wicker bag, this is called the Wicker Shoulder bag. I believe that one could have this for years to come. It is very classic.

Well, I hope that you enjoyed all of my Talbots finds for the summer and that you are inspired to be chic this summer.

Enjoy!
