New Beauty....

Since I am getting older finding beauty products that work has been a must. I want great skin that does not need a lot of makeup. So I have been learning to make investments in my skincare products.

I found this magazine called New Beauty and it educates you on skin care, make up, products and solutions to beauty issues that we may have.

In the Spring/ Summer 2016 issue they have a massive article called "Beauty Choice Awards. I spotted a few new products that I want to try and thought I would share them...

Lancome Energie De Vie
The Melt-in Sleeping Mask

This is an overnight mask that cools on contact and works it's magic while you sleep.
It's full of antioxidants and plant extracts that rejuvenate your skin.

I am not sure if this is available in the U.S. yet but I will keep looking

The next product is the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Hair Oil. It drenches
dull, dry strands with a hefty dose of omega fatty acids that help
strengthen damaged areas.

The Clarians Body Lift Cellulite Lotion sounds very interesting.
This product claims to stimulate skin and minimize lumps and bumps in as little as
four weeks. It has a minty scent too!

The last product is called the Eminence Organic Coconut Firming Lotion.
This double duty formula is suppose to leave you skin feeling firmer
and smoother over time thanks to its collagen-boosting complex and
coconut-infused moisturizers.

I hope to buy these products one by one because they are very expensive. But if
I can get a sample from the beauty counter then I will try that route. I hope this
will inspire you to take a look into products around you!

Thanks for reading!!!

A Day with Aerin

I have written about Aerin Lauder a couple of times on the blog (see here and here) and I still can't get enough of her effortless style. While reading through Traditional Home Magazine I stumbled on an article about "A Day in the Life: Aerin Lauder". I purchased the magazine immediately because I knew that the article would tell about how she goes about her day being chic.

Aerin Lauder has the kind of fame that makes her familiar—if not totally recognizable—to people on the street. “People often come up to me saying, ‘Excuse me, don’t we know each other?’ ” says Aerin, the much-photographed granddaughter of Estée Lauder. “They know my face, but they just can’t place it.”

Running the business while raising a family—she and husband Eric Zinterhofer have two teenage sons—seems to come naturally to Aerin, who has a formidable work ethic and the preternatural ability to look crisp and put together even before her first cup of coffee.

She starts her day with fresh flowers. That sings to me already...

[8:30am] Fresh flowers are a necessary luxury in Aerin’s life, and she pops into Plaza Flowers on Lexington Avenue about once a week. “I love picking out my own arrangements,” she says as she grabs her handbag and one of her own empty vases on her way out the door. “I always have blossoms next to my bed, in my living room, and in the office.” Today the shop is filled with an extravagant riot of pink, purple, and lavender blossoms, the air heady with the green scent of freshly snipped stems. She asks owner Connie Plaissay to make an arrangement of the fuchsia peonies in her gold vase, which he promises to deliver to her offices later that day.

[9:10am] “Estée always said your office should be as homey as possible because you spend a lot of time at work,” says Aerin, arriving at the landmark Art Deco-era Fuller Building. Indeed, her work space feels like a glamorous Manhattan home, complete with a Baguès chandelier, Arctander armchairs, a striking George Condo canvas, pretty bowls filled with candy, and multiple touches of gold. “Estée believed in using gold as a neutral, and so do I,” she says, taking a seat at the mirrored table in the conference room for a meeting with Veronique Nguyen, Aerin’s merchandising manager.

[1:15pm] Lunch is takeout salad and Diet Coke at the office, then her driver picks her up for the afternoon’s appointments. First destination? The Met Breuer—the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new annex. The museum opened in its new guise just two weeks ago, and Aerin hasn’t had a chance to see it yet. “It’s so strange to think it isn’t the Whitney anymore,” muses Aerin, whose uncle, Leonard Lauder, is the Whitney’s chairman emeritus. “When we were kids, my sister and I would come to see the Calder’s Circus and have burgers in the restaurant downstairs.” She spends most of her visit on the fourth floor, admiring two pieces by one of her favorite artists, Brice Marden. (In fact, she has a Marden hanging in the entry hall of her apartment.) “I think his work is really magical,” she murmurs.

I love how she goes on her lunch break to look at art.
Very chic, isn't it?

If you want to read the rest of the article you can see it here. It is quite wonderful and inspiring.

My Fruit Fusion Water Bottle

Goodness gracious it has been so hot here in Indiana! I know we shouldn't complain because we have horrible winters here but I am sorry it's hot!

I had a visit with my O.B. recently and I told her that I have been dizzy lately. Without blinking an eye she said, "You don't drink enough water". I just sighed. So I made a mental note to start working on that immediately.

My family and I were at the mall and went into Dick's Sporting Goods. Not really my kinda of shopping but I have to honor my husband to. He always goes where I want. We were just looking around when I spotted the Fruit Fusion Water Bottle by Carrie Underwood.

This is a photo of my bottle at home. We purchased bags of frozen fruit and it works wonderfully. The frozen fruit keeps it cold and flavors the water at the same time. I absolutely love it and carry it everywhere I go.

If you are not a big water drinker maybe you should try a fruit fusion water bottle. It may change your mind.

Vintage from Tradesy

I love buying vintage pieces especially accessories! I made another purchase from Tradesy.  I purchased another Louis Vuitton of course and a pair of vintage Chanel earrings.

I had the earrings on my "Love list" since last year. I am so happy that I was able to purchase them this time!

I am very pleased with my earrings and the seller sent the original box, velvet bag and shopping bag with the Chanel camellia flower! It was a pleasant surprise.

The second item that I purchased was this vintage 1980's Louis Vuitton. It is in excellent condition.

It is a nice large size and you can tell it is built to last. I purchased my first Louis Vuitton from Tradesy last year. You can read about it here.

My experience with Tradesy has been wonderful so far. If you want a nice Louis Vuitton bag and don't mind it being used then Tradesy might be the site for you!

River Street Sweets in Savannah

After having that wonderful dinner at Lady and Son's (that fried chicken was the best), I had a sweet tooth! We went back down to River Street and spotted this great candy store called River Street Sweets.

It was a wonderful store and it was full of old goodies and new goodies. But what caught my eye were the white chocolate bear claws! Oh me, oh my.....

The white chocolate strawberries were the best.

The white chocolate bear claws are sensational!

Wonderful sweets shop to visit if you are ever in Savannah. The staff was just a sweet too!

Our Visit to Leopold's Ice Cream

I love ice cream just as much as the next person so while we were walking around Savannah everyone kept talking about Leopold's Ice Cream.

I thought, "Oh come one, it's just ice cream", but when we came around the corner at 10:30 at night and saw the line a block down the road that had me a little curious. So we got and line and waited another 15 minutes and had the most creamy and delicious ice cream.

Mmmmm, good!

Wonderful treats! If you are ever in Savannah and have the "patience of Job"
I would encourage you to stop my Leopold's. It is worth the wait!

In Savannah...

I have always wanted to visit Savannah. I have always pictured myself as a southern belle kinda of gal. And I was so excited when my husband added this to our list of places to visit while heading down to Florida.

So after a restful night at the hotel in Asheville, we packed up our bags and headed to Savannah! We drove by Forsyth Park and I could not get any pictures of it because my husband was looking for a parking spot!

We ended up parking on the same street as Lady and Sons. We then walked around and took a few pictures of downtown before heading into the restaurant.

Love these trolleys! So charming....

Pretty trees in the park

Taking in some of the historical views on River Street

Spotted this gorgeous necklace in the Banana Republic store in
Savannah. It is called the Sea Life Focal Necklace.

Once we finished walking around we headed into Lady and Son's. We walked around the gift shop and I could not take my eyes off this floral arrangement.

I love the tiny roses on the vase.

After we finished dinner this "guy" was walking around greeting everyone!
It was Paula Dean's husband. Very nice man!

I enjoyed Savannah and hope to return soon!

Antiquing in Asheville

I had such a wonderful day at the Biltmore. We spent the night at a great hotel and got up early to continue on our road trip to Florida. The day before while we were heading to the Biltmore, my husband and I spotted tons of antique stores!

I am a sucker for antiques and wanted to stop so bad but I knew that my husband wanted to get on our way so I didn't say a word. So the next morning he surprised me by stopping at the biggest one we saw. It was called the Antique Tobacco Barn and it was huge!

I felt like a kid in a candy store! My husband was extremely impressed and he is never impressed with antique stores. He usually hates going into them but will tolerate them for my sake.

I love the chairs!

I thought this was gorgeous! It was massive!

I love these crystal vintage candlesticks!

My daughter found this blue and white vase. Good find right?

Beautiful dishes and pictures

This would be beautiful in a backyard with roses all over it!

Okay, I could not help it. I had to grab the crystal candlestick holders.
Fantastic right?

This was so much fun and I hope to visit Asheville again! My family and I loved it!
